I help people become
besties with change

Meet Sandra Wolter

Blending Tradition and Innovation: From Coffee Roots to Entrepreneurial Heights. Raised in a fifth-generation coffee business, and transitioning from a distinguished career in journalism, Sandra now excels as a specialty coffee entrepreneur, speaker and business mentor.

Her natural ability to wholeheartedly lean into change and hang out with uncertainty has led her to varied experiences in life and unlocked a gift she was not always aware of: The ability to guide people from all walks of life through tough or fearful transitions in business or life.

Whether you chose change, or it comes at you - it’s never a smooth ride, and that’s okay. Transmutation is a superpower that is not fighting or denying fear of change. It sees it for what it is, disengages, and then turns it into positive fuel. Using it wisely sets you apart from most people that spend their life waiting for the other pump (or boot) to drop.

Sandra’s secret sauce is her unique combination of:

- a fact- and research based journalistic mind,

- contemplation practice that lifts and lightens emotional states,

- value-based business skills, and

- training as a humorous storyteller which reframes the way we think about life.

The key is to separate:

- chemical reactions that immobilize the body

- heavy emotions that shut down any helpful action, and

- thoughts that weigh us down with beliefs in inadequacy, failure, imposter phenomenon and other debilitating states of mind.

These three areas are what Sandra calls “our structure”, the external base of our life. If you hold on too tight, if you get rigid in order to brace for change, your life becomes brittle and unstable.
A structure must be open to evolve and expand - it serves as a way to deliver your unique message. Therefore it has to grow with you, it must be flexible, especially in uncertain times.
The goal is to create your new light filled structure on a solid inner foundation. Most people do it the other way around - they create (and believe in) a rigid structure on a shaky foundation.

So, what is a Contemplation over Coffee Session?
Let’s start with what it is not: It’s not woo woo and it’s not feel good self talk. It’s also not a done for you business plan or coaching. Although that can be part of it in some cases. It does not require you to make or drink coffee (but it’s a shame if you pass).
In a CoC session, Sandra helps people transmute internal limitations, befriend change and hang with uncertainty. She holds space that creates inner calm and clarity. You can contemplate on your own, yet the difference in a guided session is that you have someone’s help pin pointing your blind spots, giving you pointers when you get lost. It’s half talk and half silence. You get to look at what scares you the most, disarm and laugh at it (or at least crack a smile).
Sandra has developed her personal approach over the course of four careers and several health- and life changing situations. And she has certainly made more lemonade on the way than you can sell on hot summer day at the county fair.

Perhaps you are a professional woman, burnt out in a corporate dead end job, or you spent the last decades raising a family and are now looking to make a significant life change. You are ready to become an entrepreneur or solopreneur, but are not sure what direction to take. You are not alone. Your path is always a personal one - but you don’t have to walk it blind and with fear in your heart.

The Company that inspired Contemplation over Coffee

In 2013, a profound personal shift inspired Sandra to embark on a year of soul-searching, culminating in an inspired career change and the founding of Sweet Science Coffee in Washington, DC. Starting as a modest one-woman pop-up shop offering brewing classes in 2015, her venture has grown into a holistic enterprise with nationwide reach. Today, Sweet Science Coffee delivers innovative products and services for health-conscious coffee lovers across the US.

Coffee Science: Supporting Mind
And Body

Craft coffee isn't just about the caffeine boost - it's about overall health. Mastering a pour-over is a daily ritual of learning, crafting, contemplation and savoring unique flavors. It requires focus while pulling you into the body via all of your senses. That disrupts thought loops. In addition, clinical studies show that well timed and dosed coffee intake has beneficial affects on mind and body.

“Sandra is a practical uplifter. She helped us streamline the process to our own business time- and cost effectively, but most of all, she helped us lay down a mental foundation to business ownership that serves us well every day."

Nancy D., Coaching Client

“Sandra talked about how owning a coffee place provided a first option for women in the 1600's to work in a safer environment than a tavern, and be their own boss. Female entrepreneurship was always about challenging outdated beliefs, very empowering."
